Sunday Movie Fun!

We took Lily to see Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs  today.  She was up for the first half of the movie and loved it (she fell asleep for the second half).  It's a really cute movie, we highly recommend it!

She loves the fountain in front of the theater.

Making a wish.

A few games before the movie...

POPCORN!!!

Learning to sew...

My mom recently gave me one of her old sewing machines and I've been slowing trying to teach myself how to use it.  I went to Hobby Lobby Friday with the intention of getting orange and blue fabric to make Lily a UF dress.  However, they had absolutely no cute orange fabric whatsoever.  I had to resort to making her a UGA dress... :(

Watching the games at Wild Wings

Upset after Tebow got hurt.

I'm on the hunt for orange and blue fabric this week....GO GATORS!!!

Rhode Island

What a fun weekend!  We headed to Providence early Friday morning for Stefan (my cousin) and Elyssa's wedding.  It was a short trip but totally worth it!
Lily had a great time running through the airport making sure to point out every single airplane in sight:

Off to the rehearsal dinner with Gido...

Lily spent a lot of time trying to figure out how to get into this vending machine.

I love these girls!

Quick photo shoot in downtown Providence...

Our little monkey!

My gorgeous sister and her beautiful family!

Let the dancing begin...

Lily was on the dance floor the second the music started.  She LOVED it!

After dancing the night away!

Fall is in the air...

Josh loves apple butter (and I happened to be feeling very ambitious today) so I decided to try and make some organic apple butter from scratch.
I found a recipe on another cute blog I follow, went shopping at Earth Fare for all the yummy ingredients, and whipped it up during Lily's nap!  It wasn't very difficult and it made the whole house smell so amazing.
The recipe made enough to fill 8 mason jars, so I decided to take some to several of our new neighbors.
Here are some pics of my culinary adventure :)

Ready to get started

All chopped up (definitely the most time consuming part!)

Mixed up and ready to start cooking...

After about 5 hours...

DONE!

Taste test from my toughest food critic...she liked it!

Here is the recipe I used:

Crock Pot Apple Butter (yields 5 pints)

16 peeled, cored & chopped apples
1 1/2 C white sugar
1 C light brown sugar
2 T cinnamon
1/2 t ground cloves
1/2 t ground nutmeg
1/2 t kosher salt

Put all ingredients in the crock pot and stir to coat the apples
Cook on High for 1 hour
Reduce to Low for 8-10 hours, stirring occasionally
Once the apples are a dark brown color, scoop the mixture into a mesh colander to drain off some of the excess liquid
Blend the mixture to your desired apple butter consistency

A little monkey at the park!

Our new favorite place to play - Virginia Hylton Park in Downtown Lexington

She had to end the trip with a few dance moves!
