Down by the river with Daddy

We've been spending lots of time outside enjoying the beautiful spring weather.  We love to pack up lunch and picnic in the grass down by the river in our neighborhood.  Lily usually eats as fast as she can so she can get as much play-ground time in as possible.  It's getting pretty hard for me to climb up with her, so it's nice when Josh can join us and do most of the chasing!

Gone Fishin'!

Lily, the dogs and I spent some time in Gainesville with Mama J and Papa Charlie last weekend while Josh was out of town for a work meeting.  Lily loved riding the golf cart to the lake to feed the "fishies" some bread.
When we got home from our trip we had to go to Pet Smart and buy our very own fishy.  She has tried to feed Fishy (this is his name) pieces of whatever she is eating and has tossed a few toys into his bowl for him to play with.  Now she knows that Fishy has his own special food.  When it's time to feed him she gets his food out of the cabinet, leans over his bowl and calls him to her ("Fishyyy, Fishyyy, Fishyyy..."), and smiles happily as he gobbles three little pebbles up!

Cupcakes!

It's so nice to finally be feeling good enough to cook again.  I decided to make some Vanilla Cupcakes with Vanilla Icing during Lily's nap for a sweet snack-time surprise.  I used a recipe from The Hummingbird Bakery Cookbook.
Lily used her cute new table and chair for the first time today, too.  Now we have to have snack-time on the front porch (in the sweltering heat of the sun!) everyday after her nap...perfect for her pregnant mommy!

Fun in the SUN!!!

We had an awesome time in Hilton Head.  Josh, Lily and I headed over Friday morning and my sister, Halla, and her family arrived Saturday afternoon.  Lily absolutely LOVED swimming in the pool (the ocean was still a bit chilly).  She spent hours splashing around, chilling in her starfish float and jumping to her daddy from the side of the pool.  She is definitely a water baby!
We got way too much sun our first day there, so I spent the rest of our trip smothering my poor baby in sunscreen.  Lily already has tan lines and it's only April!
We also went for our first bike ride together.  I'm sure the pregnant lady with the baby on the back of the bike got a few funny looks, but it was so much fun!
Lily loved hangin' with her cousins, Olivia and Emily.  It was a week of endless Nemo fruit snacks and Shirley Temples, 10pm bedtimes and hours of fun in the sun!  Needless to say, Lily has been sleeping in every morning and taking 3 hour naps since we've been home :)
