GIRLS ROAD TRIP!

Lily and I decided to take a Road Trip to Alabama to see two of my best friends, Kelly & Aly.

First stop...Birmingham, AL!

We arrived in Birmingham around lunch time, so we met Kelly at Taziki's for some delicious Greek food.  We then headed straight to the Summit for some shopping!  After a quick stop at Kelly's house to change clothes, we went out for Mexican with my good friend from college, Rebecca, who also now lives in Birmingham.

Saturday morning started with a trip to a fun Christmas Market with Rebecca where Lily picked up several cute new outfits.  After that we met up with Kelly for an early lunch at Another Broken Egg Cafe...YUMMY!  Kelly is getting married in just a few weeks, so we spent the rest of the day running a few last minute wedding errands with the bride-to-be.  We ended the day with an awesome meal at a local Indian restaraunt.

Kelly had to work Sunday morning, so Lily and I decided to be lazy and catch up on some missed sleep.  We ended our time in Birmingham with a trip to Costco for some more wedding supplies.  Lily was a HUGE fan of all the sample stations.  We must have hit all 20 of them at least twice!  Biscuits, cheese, hot pockets, meatballs, ice cream, etc...she thought it was the greatest thing ever!

Unfortunately, I didn't take any pictures in Birmingham.  I know, hard to believe!  But, as you can see, we had a wonderful time with Aunt Kelly!

Next stop...Huntsville, AL!

We kicked off our time in Huntsville with a low key night at Aly's new house.  We ordered pizza and pigged out in our pj's...perfect night after our long weekend!

Monday morning began with a trip to Publix to pick up ingredients for several desserts we were planning on making for Thanksgiving.  We met up with Aly's husband, Tony, for lunch at Jason's Deli.  Then we were off to Target and the mall:
Target!

We stopped at Orange Tree for a snack durring our shopping spree.  Lily had blueberry yogurt with mini marshmallows and animal crackers:
"Is my mommy really going to let me do this all by myself?!"

That night Aly and Tony made dinner for us. Chicken and tofu lettuce wraps & salad with homemade ginger dressing...delicious!

Tuesday started with nutella crepes with fresh whipped cream.  Lily loves her Aunt Aly's cooking!

Lily was exhausted after her big breakfast, so she went down for a good 2 1/2 hour nap while Aly and I started baking.  We went out for Thai and made a quick stop at Williams Sanoma for some pecan pumpkin butter for pumpkin bars.  That afternoon we went on a walk to the lake in Aly's neighborhood to feed the ducks.  Lily loved chasing them and pointing and saying "duck duck duck"!

We spend the rest of the day baking.  We made Apple Pie Cupcakes, Banana Carmel Cupcakes, and Pumpkin Bars:

We ended our stay with another trip out for Mexican.  We definitely ate good on our trip!

Next stop...Gainesville, GA for THANKGIVING!  New post coming soon... :)

Lily's 1st pigtails!

Well, my babies hair is FINALLY long enough for pigtails!  We tried them for the first time the other day and she looked too cute!
