The Nutcracker

Lily and I went to see The Nutcracker last Friday night.  I was a little worried because the show started at 7:30 and Lily usually goes to bed around 8.  I tried to be totally prepared with a purse full of goldfish and pretzels...and it worked, she did great!  We made it through to intermission and decided not to press our luck with the second half.

I just love experiencing all the things I used to love with my daughter.

This precious wooden chair belonged to Josh's Grandmother when she was a child:

Turkey Day

We decided to stay in South Carolina this year for Thanksgiving!  Josh's parents came over and the girls had so much fun with their Mama J and Papa Charlie.  We did lots of playing and way too much eating!

Josh's 1st Turkey
 Working hard in the kitchen...
 Playing hard in the kitchen...
Working on his gravy...no comment (okay, let's just say we'll soon have a gas cook-top thanks to an extremely expensive to repair cracked glass cook-top...Merry Christmas to us!)
Learning how to carve a turkey...
 Cranberry and Sausage Cornbread Stuffing
 My mom's Scalloped Pineapples
 Paula Dean's Green Bean Casserole
 Janice's yummy Yeast Rolls
And no matter how hard we tried...
we just couldn't pull Charlotte away from the games!!!

life with two 2-year-olds and a 3-month-old...

is crazy, exhausting and so much FUN!!!

Good friends of ours, Renee and Paul, were busy today giving birth to their second daughter, Vivian Elizabeth, so Lily got to spend the whole day with one of her best buddies, Emma Jane!

The girls had a blast today playing in the playroom, baking sugar cookies, running around outside and having a picnic lunch.

Josh and I were impressed by our parenting skills...maybe it's time for baby Sadler #3....JUST KIDDING!!!
