Painting Play Date

Today the girls and I met up with Amanda and Kaitlyn at The Mad Platter for some arts and crafts!  The girls had a great time picking out and painting their very own piece of pottery.
After much careful consideration, both girls settled on cute little piggy banks.  They got to pick out paint colors, orange & blue for Kaitlyn (GO GATORS!) and purple & pink for Lily (no big surprise there!).  The painting part of the activity actually held their attention for about 30 minutes.  I jumped in to help Lily finish at about the time she thought it would be fun to start painting herself.  Never a dull moment with a toddler...

Mommy & Me BALLET

Lily started Mommy & Me Ballet yesterday with two of her friends, Addie and Savannah.  She will have class every Wednesday @ 9:15 for 45 minutes.
I think she did pretty well yesterday considering it was her first class.  It's hard for a 2-year-old to concentrate for that long, but I think she'll get a little better with that each week.  The girls looked absolutely adorable in their dance gear.  Lily actually wore my old ballet shoes and they fit her perfectly.  Dance was always such a huge and special part of my life growing up, and it's so awesome to be able to experience it with my Lily now.  Thank goodness I had a GIRL!
Also, Miss Charlotte was an ANGEL for my during the class.  She was peacefully fast asleep in her stroller.  I know next week might be the complete opposite with her, but I was so proud of her yesterday!

Sweet Baby Charlotte

These first 5 weeks with Charlotte have flown by, just like I knew they would.  Getting used to having two girl has definitely had it's challenges.
Miss Charlotte is happiest when in our arms, which is a bit of a problem when you're chasing after a 2-year-old all day long.  She is only content in a rocker or her car seat when she's fast asleep.  Otherwise, she makes these charming grumpy grunts over and over and over again... :)
While I love having two babies, it does make it very difficult to have any alone time with Charlotte.  My favorite time of the day with my sweet baby is during Lily's nap when we sneak into my bed and snuggle for a few hours, just the two of us.  I also don't mind getting up throughout the night with her because I get to actually enjoy nursing her without Lily crawling all over both of us!
Josh and I are trying to take in every second of Charlotte's newborn phase because we know how fast it goes by.  There is nothing quite like the smell and snuggles of a little lumpy baby :)
