Cheap Date

Lily quietly disappeared into her room tonight while Josh and I were cooking dinner.  About 15 minutes later she came down the stairs decked out in an entirely new outfit that she had picked out all on her own.  Last time she did this she layered on multiple tops and bottoms creating an outfit that didn't make much sense.  This time, however, a sparkly shirt, cute skirt, funky rain boots and rhinestone headband were her choices and, I must say, she looked super cute.  I was very proud of my little fashionista!  When Josh and I asked her what she got all dressed up for she said, "for my dinner date with Daddy to Waffle House."  Josh, of course, ate this up.  So, after our first dinner (that she barely even touched) they headed out for their impromptu date night:
I stayed home with this happy girl:
and this big mess:
I was a little jealous at first, but this sweet face made me feel much better:

  1. I LOVE this post!! Lily has learned the fine art of wrapping her father around her finger!! A family story is that grandma had to lock up Aunt Brenda's clothes to keep her from changing numerous times a day. Just a warning!!
